What is the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course?
The PADI Advanced Open Water course is generally the next step certified Open Water divers take. The Advanced course consists of five (5) PADI Adventure dives, with the PADI Deep and Navigation Adventure dives being required dives! The course can be completed in just two days.
What will I learn during either of these courses?
You are already certified divers, so we are not teaching you to dive all over again. We will introduce you to new skills and give you additional knowledge for you to extend your diving capabilities.
Unlike the PADI Open Water course you completed, there are no video’s to watch or quizzes and exams! Each dive, you will be required to read a short chapter in the manual and complete a knowledge review. In water, we will introduce and practice the new skills or tasks and have a whole lot of fun while we are doing it!
Why do you have to do Deep and Navigation for the Advanced Course for the Advanced Padi Course?
The PADI Deep and Navigation dives are core dives, the knowledge and skills learned from completing these two dives is what will set you apart from Open Water Divers. Open Water divers learn to dive safely to 18 meters, as an Advanced Open Water diver, you will have the training and knowledge to safely dive to 30 meters.
Having basic underwater navigational skills will come in quite handy, as you are exploring all the new dive sites your new certification level will now allow you to dive!
