Thailand National Parks has introduced new requirements on all Day trips and Liveaboard trips to the Similan and Surin Islands effective Oct 14th 2018. There is now a limit of 525 divers per day allowed to dive in the Similan/Surin Islands, national park fees must be purchased by the boat operator in advance in the name of the diver…..these national park fees are non-refundable and can not be transferred to another diver.
When making bookings, I would suggest well in advance! You will be required to provide full name as it appears in your passport, date of birth, home country as it appears in your passport along with passport number. You will also need a copy of your passport to show Thai officials when boarding. All divers will also now have to show proof of valid Scuba Diving accident and evacuation Insurance coverage. This is mandatory, daily insurance can be purchased from the dive operator if you do not already have it.
Single use plastic is no longer allowed in the Similan/Surin Islands or on the liveaboards. Please ensure you pack well, without plastic bags!
